My Nauvoo Trip

I know I have posted A TON of pictures of my Nauvoo trip to see my brother's wedding, and it is all basically backwards. :) (It started with Winter Quarters and ended with Mount Rushmore.) But it was so much fun and I just wanted to share the memories. Sorry to post so many, but the girls and I had a great time, and we survived the drive! :) Enjoy the pictures!

Swim for your life!!!

We had a fun time swimming in the hotel pools. The girls pretty much didn't even know what a pool was before we left.

BABE and The "lettuce wrap"

This is what mom kept sending back- it is a piece of ham wrapped in a leaf of lettuce, or what she called a "lettuce wrap." I don't mean to sound ungrateful... but, well... I was left wanting... maybe a totilla shell or something. :)

We passed a big old truck load of cute little pink pigs- the girls went nuts! They were just wiggling around- I didn't have the heart to tell them it was driven by "Black Hill's Pork Co."

Mount Rushmore

On the way back, we got to swing by Mount Rushmore- which was totally amazing! We also drove through Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone- it was a georgous drive through canyons and forests! Just picturesque! We also saw three bears, lots of elk and serveral herds of Buffalo. (Autumn actually spotted the bison. We were looking at the elk on one side and she cried out, "Bullo!!!" Sure enough- there they were. Sharp eyes Little B! :)

The Point of Maddness...

You can only take so much driving before you start "driving" yourself and others crazy. Bethany and I tried just about everything to keep us and the girls entertained. Here is just a sample of one of the many...

The Nauvoo Wedding

I was so happy for Anthony and Kylie. They make a sweet couple and it was so awesome to be able to be inside the Nauvoo Temple with all my brothers and sisters and parents. It was a special time for us- how lucky we are to look forward to eternity! I just wish Doug could have been with me and my joy would have been complete. :)

"The Brothers of Abraham"
The Six Romneys... how times flies! I love everyone of them!!!

"Welcome to Old Nauvoo!"

The Family Living Center was one of my favorite places- they show you how they made homemade bread, candles, ropes, and things like that. I just love stuff like that- sometimes I think I should have been born in the "Little House on the Pairie" with Laura... but then I remember how nice it is to have a dish washer and a micorwave and... well- needless to say, I enjoy visiting and reading about that time period. What creative people there were! And hard workers!

The girls found these dolls in the Family Living Center and I couldn't get them to leave! They named them Sarah and Liza and I think they were just so happy to be out of the car and actually playing that they would have been content to spend the day there. :)
There were never more devoted sisters!! :)
Autumn fell asleep on the fun wagon ride- it was a nice nap for her though. :)

I love my sister, Bethany! She was such an amazing help with the girls! They love their Aunt Pete!

Nauvoo...

My parents were SOOOO good to my girls. They were so accommodating and just made the whole trip so much fun for us! I am so lucky to have such good parents!

My cute cousin Marci-pants came for the wedding- it was so fun to see her. She makes me smile! She did Kylie's for the wedding and it turned out so pretty! She is so talented!

Romney Wedding Bells are RINGING!!!

It isn't every sister that can claim three siblings getting married all within a month of each other in one summer! That is why I just had to post it. It is such a happy thing for my family. I never imagined how much in-laws can enrich your life! I think I have the VERY BEST! (Both Doug's family and mine!) I love each one of them- truly they complete the Romney Family. I look forward to some fun family reunions and memories down the road!
