Captain Underpants

Seth thought he was pretty hilarious running around with the girls underwear on his head. It just seems to fit. :) I'll have to fold laundry in private from now on.
Poor Seth crashed right in the middle of lunch- obviously that sandwich I gave him wasn't enough to hold his attention- at least not when it came to eating it- it looks like he had plenty of play time with it.
Autumn made us what we call "Pig's in a Blanket" all by herself- she was quite proud. She laid out all the hot dogs, covered them with mashed potatoes and cheese and microwaved it on her own- and there was dinner. Thanks Autumn. :)
Amberlee is such a nut! Right in the middle of dinner, she starts telling us about how she is learning YOGA at school... which really doesn't surprise me, it seems like the just kind of thing this school... this town would embrace- and that is not a bad thing, mind you. Anyway, she's talking about it and she gets up from her chair and starts showing us all these moves (taking so seriously as you can see- I just had to snap a picture- the medicine on her eye is from the pink eye she just got over) and she asks if she can teach us "some moves" after dinner. We all agree- at first Doug just laughs, and then he sees my "evil eye" and Amberlee's hurt face and he submits. So that evening, Amberlee teaches us some stellar yoga moves... which gets me thinking about somersaults again, so I try one, and they are still really hard, so I point this out to Doug and sort of challenge him, and of course he accepts the challenge... which leads to my sweet husband doing an awesome somersault, making us all laugh really hard... which leads to him completely throwing out his neck and upper back. He still can't straighten it- a very limited range of motion... and this, all because Amberlee is learning Yoga at school. I'm going to sue. :) (Don't mind all my canning boxes in the background- it looks like we are moving! I need to wrap up that project! :)

I Can Count To100...

This posts are dedicated to Eleni, who wanted more videos. :)
Amberlee is happy to have figured out how to count by tens... we're still working with Autumn. :)

The Fair is a Veritable Smorgasbord-orgasbord...

We visited our local county fair- a pretty big deal around these parts. People come from miles around! :) No really. And it is super fun. I even had a gal running for county commissioner hand me a little baggy with homemade lentil soup- it was perfect. I cooked it up that night... with soup like that, she's got my vote, democrat or no. :) We had a lot of fun just walking around. The kids even had a good time just watching the rides. :) Remember when you were young enough not to know what a rip-off they were? Our parents were awfully kid (or foolish) to allow such falderal!

Some Terrific, Radiant, Humble...

We had fun at the local fair- I met a friend their and our kids had a great time walking around and petting all the animals. I love that I caught Autumn touching the pig's ear that was sticking out- it was like she didn't think it was real. She was quite tickled when it twitched. :)
Autumn really liked these bunny's hair-do. The girl was so nice, she pulled them out and let the girls pet them.
They had a really fun train museum area- the kids (especially Seth) went nuts watching all the trains go around.

Life With Two Big Sisters...

With two big sisters around, I sometimes walk in to find Seth looking "fancied" up or crouded out. :)
I'm sure he'll find his place in this world though. :)
This is Amberlee's bird feeder- made out of my peach box. (I put up 50 quarts. :) I think it is still sitting in the bushes- I'm sure the neighbors love what it does to the place. :)

Birthday Party...

The girls were invited to such a fun birthday party last week. They had a blast! There was singing and dancing (from a fun band for kids called JENKS) including a cool juggling act that the kids went nuts over. They also had a fun photo booth for pictures and yummy cup-cakes. We had such a good time and we felt lucky to be invited!

I Walked On The Moon...

Douglas and I laughed for TWO HOURS STRAIGHT at the Brian Regan's comedy show last week. It was so much fun- I am so glad we got tickets. My good friend reserved them for us and she got us some AWESOME SEATS right on the floor in the front. It was great! He is HILARIOUS! Even in person! I was nervous that it would just be a repeat of all the jokes we've seen, but everything was new and SO FUNNY! He is really good at being flexible and clean. He just comes out with so much energy and such a weird face that you have to laugh- and his hair was spiked up and bleached white, and right of the bat he said... "Ok... I know what you are all thinking... what happened to you Captain Frosty Locks?" You would just have to see him in action to appreciate it, but I am a big fan! I think we just both thoroughly enjoyed it. (It was much needed comic relief for Doug seeing as how Seth broke the keyboard on his lap top and his bike tires were slashed. Needless to say- he had a rough morning.) So it felt wonderful just to laugh that hard! It was awesome and I'm so glad we got to go- and that I got to go with my best friend! :)
