Bears... Beets... Battlestar Galactica...

Doug had a job interview in Pullman on Friday and he spotted some fenced "Big Horned Sheep" and Bears on his way, so today we had a fun little family trip to go see them. It was actually REALLY fun! Especially the bears. I have never been that close before, and it was good timing, because they were just about to be fed, so they came right down to their pens, and they were going wild at the gate. I think the girls were a little nervous. Autumn kept saying "Make me scary..." and Amberlee didn't know quite what to think. They were so big and they kept running back and forth and scratching at the door. It was pretty amazing.
Can you tell my coat at maximum capacity? I can barely zip it up these days. :) Just three more weeks!!!!

A Little Confused...

Amberlee came to me SO confused at why her PJ's weren't working. I had a good laugh. Four different holes can be tricky sometimes. :)

I've been busy...

Well, I'm not quite finished, but I've been making some pregress on the nursery room for my little guy. (I was kind of stuck for a while- I couldn't find the right colors of material and things just weren't working out. Thanks so much for you're great ideas!) I love the baby boy blue- this is seeming really "masculine" for a new baby, but I've been excited that I have been able to do it all for about $10 (I have used a lot of scrap material and things I already had.) and it has been fun to see it come together and... not to mention, I am more in love with my beautiful Janome sewing machine than ever! It has made it all so fun to work on!
I think the curtains are my favorite so far. They were fun to put together and hand up. My friend, Jennifer gave me the idea of buying a sheet for material (because it can be so expensive.) I found the green flat sheet for $3. Thought it was a good idea!
I worked SO hard on that wall hanging (but I don't think I'll ever let you see an up close picture- far to many mistakes. :) But I tried some fun new decorative stitches. I didn't have anymore of that bear material, so I actually cut of the back side of the dust ruffle. :) I know- I am so cheap! I hope I never have to use both sides of the crib! :)
This was a shelf I already had, but wasn't using. I didn't even have to paint it (handy!) and then I have just been finding little bears and books I already have and a few at the dollar store. I'm finding that bears are an easy thing to collect. :) The girls are really bothered that they are all out of reach. I think they're a little confused that I am putting their stuffed animals up on a shelf. :)

I thought the stars were fun! I already had a dust ruffle to match the blanket, but I thought I would dress it up to fit the theme by sewing on some stars. I did an aplique stick around each star. I was happy with how they turned out. I'll take more pictures when I finish the little matching jean quilt.

Autumn Strikes Again...

Poor Autumn! How does she do it! This time, she found my mascara, and in addition to some black wall art, she thought she would take a few good bites. Dad knew something was up when he came down the stairs and she was hiding from him. As you can see, she tasted his "wrath" and he brought her up to me. I just laughed and took a picture (but then, I hadn't seen the wall yet. :) Anyway- poor kid... and poor us! What do you do? (Especially when she keeps saying, "I sorry Mommy... I luss you..."

Autumn's Version

This is Autumn's version of "Heavenly Father's Creations."

Amberlee's Dream...

Lately, Amberlee really likes telling us about dreams she's had. She heard Doug and I talking about it once and she really picked up on it. This one really fits the "dream is a wish your heart makes."

"M" is for Music...

We had a fun joy school day making musical instruments- drums and shakers out of things we could find around the house.

Captain Underpants...

Yes... that is underwear. And yes... it was originally Autumn's idea. How do these girls come up with this kind of stuff?

Side Note: I had a Doctor's Apt. on Monday and we all got to hear the babies heart beat for Presidents day. It was strong and loud! It was really fun! He is a healthy little guy, moving around a lot and things are looking good. Less than 5 weeks to go!!! Also on Monday, we took a fun little day trip to Lewiston to check things out. We had a good time. We "splurged" and ate at a really cool Taco Time. We also checked out Costco and played at a fun little park. It was just a fun little outing. We sure live in a pretty place.

Happy Valentine's Day...

What a fun Valentines day! My nice friend watched the girls while Doug and I went out to lunch and went on a little date. It was fun to get away for a bit! We found this really cool outdoor store that Doug was "in heaven" in.
The girls have gotten some fun prized for both Grandma's and Grandpa's! Sweet Sweet! Lots of love and two very tickled girls! Thank you!
Aren't these flowers lovely! I got me a good man! :) He knows what I love! (He also got me a big resealable bag of strawberry Twizzlers- which I'm already about half way done with... oh, the good things in life!) I have a good Valentine! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Valentines Day Cooking Group Party...

Doug was so sweet to have a little "party" with the girls. He set up the lap top, popped pop corn, and they watched Tinker Bell (their new favorite!). Pretty much, they thought they were quite special.... which they are. Thanks Doug!

Feelin' the LOVE...

The girls and I had fun making homemade valentines. We got the idea from the cool site Make and Takes, and although they weren't quite as cute as hers, we had fun "feelin' the love!"

One of a kind...

Just tell me how you couldn't just love this girl? I'm not sure where she came from, but I'm so glad she did. :) It is really hard for me to get after her (even when she really deserves it!). I expect a lot of Amberlee where she is the oldest and first (I can already feel that birth order thing kicking in), but I have the hardest time disciplining Autumn (she just doesn't respond in the same way.) and she is SUCH a BIGGER pill! She makes more messes and is up to more mischief than I can keep up with, but there is something about her that I just have to love. Anyway- I'm grateful for her little crooked-toothed smile and personality that brightens up my life. She definitely keeps things interesting around here! :)

Around the jolly 'orner, and off to the park...

We went for a fun family walk around the Arboretum. It is so beautiful (even when everything is dead :) and it felt SO good to get some sunshine! I think the girls had a lot of fun running up and down the hills. I'm glad it is warming up a little bit so they can run around outside... they both took great naps! :)

Heaven... I'm in Heaven...

Oh... wow! I had know idea how nice these pregnancy back braces are! I just got it today, and I have already felt SO much less pressure! It has been so nice! (If only I had been smart and gotten it earlier! You tried to tell me Noelle! :)) Anyway- just wanted to share my joy... my physical therapist has been amazing! Deep tissue massages... a new back brace... somebody really cares! I wish I could share it all with you... all but the back pain of course. :)

Can you believe my cute husband helped design and install this beautiful waterfall last summer? It was actually featured in the October 2008 Idaho Builder/Architect Magazine. I was sure proud of him. For more information, check out his portfolio: http://douglasstewartportfolio.blogspot.com/

This and that...

Amberlee spent a good half-hour on this beautiful cheerio necklace. I was so proud of her- I have never seen one so big! :) She was pretty tickled with herself- she ate the whole thing in about two minutes, but it was a great way to keep her busy! :) (She didn't care for the yarn I had her use, she kept saying she was eating hair. :)

This is Autumn's new "get-up." Isn't she lovely?
This gal stopped taking naps consistently quite a while back, but she recently found a new place to take them... and since then... well, this funny girl! This picture was taken right when she woke up, so she seems a little sad, but She quite enjoyed sleeping in "baby brother's bed" and now of course Autumn had to give it a try, too. I hope this crib will last... maybe I need to put my foot down, but it is nice to have her taking naps again. :)

Baby Boy Bear Room... Any Ideas?

My sweet Mother and Sisters-in-laws helped me tie this cute quilt over the Christmas break, and then I bound it. It was a fun first project for my nice new sewing machine! Anyway- I was given this cute bear fabric, and I have since been thinking it would be fun to do kind of a bear theme for the baby's nursery, but I need some brilliant ideas.... do you have any? (It doesn't even have to be "bears". I have a very small budget, but I want to do some kind of cute bear wall hanging or something. Please... share your creativity!!!
