Yes, Thanksgiving. After much procrastination, I am finally attempting to catch up a bit. :)
Our first snowfall...
(Snow comes and goes quickly here. It usually melts by the end of the day. They don't plow the roads either- that I have seen. They just pour some kind of ice melt at the intersections and its pretty scary driving in the morning, but the road are completely clear by early afternoon. It has been really interesting.)

Family scripture time. (They just looked so cute, I had to take a picture. There is usually a lot more movement when we read. :)
We attended a beautiful Sunday concert of The Hymns of Thanksgiving. The music was beautiful. (The boys behavior, however, not so much. I spent most of the time sitting with them in the stairwell, but it was a fun way to kick of the Thanksgiving Season.
Amberlee has been excited about family history.
Sweet Doug was able to collect a few strings of lights they were getting rid of at work, and he deck us out for the Holidays. (He did such a good job that we won the $50 patio prize. I was proud of him.) He was a good sport to do it, because he had already put up thousands of lights at work.
And now for a Thanksgiving visit from some of our favorite people.
Grandma and Grandpa Stewart and Aunt Catherine joined our feast!
First thing, Grandma whipped out the gingerbread house. The kids were in heaven. I think they mostly ate the candy, but some of it made it on to the house. :)
A quick shot of the feast before it was devoured. It was quite delicious.
I soaked the turkey in a brine and it was quite flavorful and tender.
We made a little Thankful Tree for family night where we hung all of our blessings, and it turned out to be a good centerpiece for the feast.
Here was my proof that I did something right in the kitchen...
We went for a quick drive to see the lights at the clubhouse where Doug works. He did a great job. It was beautiful inside and out!
This was my favorite- the center section of a cottonwood above the fireplace. The pictures don't do it justice. It looked so cool all decked with lights. Who knew I had such a good decorator?!
And we finished up the night with pie and games. It was a good day. One to be grateful for! :)
Living so near all the stores made it so we couldn't help but just peek at some of the black friday sales. :) Grandpa was such a good sport and joined us for some of the shopping.
He and Doug even dressed for the occasion. (The matchy-matchy was not planned. Isn't that funny?!)
And sweet Grandparents took a very delighted crew to the new "Frozen." We all thought it was super cute.
Their visits always go so fast... they seem to know how to keep us missing them. We had so much fun and were so grateful they would make the journey to come see us on a special family day.
