Our 2 month old Rookie...

I can't believe this little guy is already 2 months! It is funny how it can feel like just yesterday, and at the same time, it feels like he has been with us forever. He is such a precious little addition to our family and we couldn't do without him! He really is a good baby! I think he was a pretty good "catch"! We had fun doing a little baseball photo shoot with him today. I was happy to catch a smile or two. He crashed right after- I think we really wore him out. He is like his dad- not a big fan of pictures. :)

...Also... little change of plans. Doug got a job in Rexburg and we're heading home for the rest of the Summer. We'll probably leave in a week. Kind of a quick switch, but my hubby is pretty excited, and I'm thrilled to be around family and friends I love so much, so a big shout to anyone still in Rexburg or around, it's time to party! The Stewart bunch is coming your way! :)

The missing glass 'lipper...

Autumn is officially the biggest pill in town! While we were at the temple and visiting with Emmalee, Autumn snatched Brynnlee's cute shoe and "hid the 'lass 'lipper in the woods." (She is SO into the princess stuff right now- combining Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.) She tried to show us where it ended up, but even she forgot, she hid it so well. We looked everywhere, but couldn't find it. Just before we were ready to take off and long after Emmalee took off, I decided to take one last look. I was trying to think like Autumn... and sure enough, there it was in the leafy part of the top of a bush in the "woods". That stinker! Anyway, so now we need your address Emmalee, so that we can send you the missing 'lipper. :)

I love the see the Temple....

I love the beautiful Spokane Temple! It was so nice to be there yesterday!
Ok- talk about a SMALL WORLD! I was sitting there at the temple waiting for Doug to get our so that we could switch off, and I met up with Emmalee Lords, one of my favorite people in the world! I couldn't believe it! They live in Pocatello, but were in Spokane for a family sealing. “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.” It totally made my day seeing her! She has a cute new baby almost born the same time as Seth. I wish we had had more time to visit or even better, I wish we were still next door neighbors!

In the shadow of the Temple...

Doug and I made it to the temple yesterday! It was so nice to be there! We had to travel two hours to Spokane, and we switched off- which makes for a long day, but it was worth it. "Weather-wise it was such a lovely day..." The girls and I found a beautiful apple tree in full bloom just right across the parking lot of the temple. We spread our blanket and read books and ate sandwiches. We had fun walking around the beautiful grounds and smelling the flowers. There is something so peaceful and special about the house of the Lord- what a blessing it was to be there!

Line 'em up....

The girls got all their dolls and stuff animals and lined them up on the stair to teach them primary. They kept bringing more and more in, and I was starting to get frustrated, and then I remembered how I did this same thing every day- multiple times a day- as a little girl. I had such a patient mother!!! She so encouraged my creativity. I wish I could be more like her!

We had some of our good neighbor friends over for dinner, and I had to take a picture of the kids- it cracks me up how well they match up. Theirs are just a couple months yonger with almost the exact same spacing. Cute kids!!!

Out and About...

The girls and I took Seth out for a little walk this week. He looked so cute in his little baseball suit... but unfortunately he wasn't very happy about the sunshine. He did fine once he fell asleep though. :)

Little Kissable Hands and Feet...

I love this little guys perfect little hands and feet! I had to snap a few pictures before he gets to big. He is hitting a major growth spurt- I have had to pull out the 3-6 month clothes and he isn't even quite 2 months yet. His little legs are starting to get chunky rolls (so cute!) and it is hard to remember the days at the hospital when the had to give him all those shots and they couldn't find a place to poke without hitting bone. They could certainly find some meat now! :)

I've decided I need to show a little more discretion when nursing. I was getting ready to feed him yesterday, and Amberlee turned to me and said, "Wow Mom, that is pretty embarrassing for a little kid like me." I covered right up and didn't know quite how to respond. Kids these days... they'll put you right in your place! :)
Seth came with a cute little red star birthmark on his left hand. It reminds me of the Royal Birthmark "The Purple Pimpernel" in The Court Jester with Danny Kaye. Doug said it is really great because we'll be able to identify him if he ever got kidnapped. What?! Hopefully we'll never have to worry about that, but Autumn thinks he has marker on his hand and she brings me rags to wipe it off. :)

Spring has Sprung...

Yesterday Doug had the day off from his job at the golf coarse, so with our very limited budget :) we decided to pick up some soil and a few flowers and get to work. Grandma Nana sent the girls some little flower pots and seeds a couple weeks ago, and the girls had so much fun planting them. We did a couple planters and cleaned up our front area a little bit. It is funny how even just doing a little bit of that and getting my hands it the dirt make me feel so happy to be alive and so happy to live hear. Must be good for me! :) So go plant something. :)

Picnic at the Park

We discovered a fun new park yesterday. It was so sunny and beautiful and we enjoyed a fun picnic lunch. It was such a happy memory for me- I had so much fun watching Doug play with the girls. He and I even played a little frizbee and catch. The girls had fun exploring and swinging. We had the whole park to ourselves- it was awesome! We'll have to venture back soon.

Burst Your Bubble...

The girls had a lot of fun blowing bubbles the other day- poor Autumn was really working at it. :)

Rockin' the Suberbs...

Doug talks about how he always wanted to be a drummer growing up... it looks to me like he is going to try to pass that unfufilled dream on. :) Lately he has really been figuring out the guitar- I'm really proud of him. It is fun to have that music in the house again.
I love how Seth almost looks like he is singing it in the second one. :) A future career in music for sure! :)

An Artist Among Us...

I know I have posted a ton lately, but I guess I just really love these kids and have to show them off to somebody. :) Amberlee and Autumn have been quite the artists lately. I just wanted to post some of the pictures they have been creating.
Amberlee painted this one for Grandpa Stewart's birthday. She loves painting- I wish I loved cleaning it up just as much and I would let her do it more often. :)

This is a letter she wrote to her cousins- I was really proud of her writing and of her pictures. I think it actually looks a little like Isaac and Miles. :)
The Kings got us hooked on the Little Einsteins. My girls are big fans. It is pretty cool to see some of the good things really sinking in. Amberlee is always wanting to run "allegro" or "diminuendo" etc. and Doug took the girls out to eat at Wendy's and Autumn casually mentioned to him that one of the paintings on the wall was "Hay Stacks" by Monet. They think our car is Rocket and we're always "blasting off" when we go places and fighting over who gets to be June or Annie. They always make me be Leo because I'm the driver. :) I don't mind. He has a pretty awesome baton. :)
